
Professional Jazz Singers Nicole Zuraitis, Lisanne Lyons (Session 4), and Kevin Mahogany (Session 5) will be in residence for the 2012 Litchfield Jazz Camp. 9:00 AM: Vocal Warmups
9:30 AM: Varies. Courses can include:
-Technique
-Singing scales/arpeggios and modes
-Harmonic analysis of jazz standards (i.e. singing bass lines, roots, leading tones)
-Song analysis/lyric analysis
-Sight singing
10:40 AM: Theory
1:00 PM: Working with a Trio
-Students will work with a professional combo where they will focus on performance techniques, workshopping songs for final performance. Each student will have a chance to perform with the trio utilizing skills learned in master class and morning classes
-The Blues:scat singing, learning blues heads
3:15 PM: Master class - varies
-How to lead a band
-Chart writing
-Piano for vocalists (introducing major,minor,diminished,augmented chords in each key)
-Songwriting
-Vocal choir
-Listening lab
