By Car:

The town of Kent is located in the northwest corner of Connecticut at the intersection of Routes 7 and 341.  It’s a lovely drive from any direction.

FROM MANHATTAN (est. 2 hours): Take I-684 (from West Side: Saw Mill River Parkway to I-684/ from East Side: Major Deegan Expressway North, I-287 East to Brewster, NY/I-684 exit.) Continue straight as I-684 becomes two-lane highway Route 22. Follow 22 North, passing through Pawling, NY, and exit to Route 55 East in Wingdale, NY. At junction of Route 55 and Route 7 (Gaylordsville, CT) take Route 7 North to Kent, CT. Once in Kent, turn left at stoplight and monument onto Route 341 West. Cross bridge over the Housatonic River, pass the main campus entrance and turn right into parking area.

FROM ALBANY (est. 2 hours): Take the NY Thruway to the Taconic Parkway South to exit for Route 23 East to Hillsdale. In Hillsdale, turn right onto NY Route 22 South to Amenia. Turn left at light onto Route 343 East to Sharon, CT. In Sharon go straight at 4-way stop (and clock tower) on Route 4 to Cornwall Bridge. In Cornwall Bridge, turn right onto Route 7 South to Kent, CT. Once in Kent, turn right at stoplight and monument onto Route 341 West. Cross bridge over the Housatonic River, pass the main campus entrance and turn right into parking area.

FROM BOSTON (est. 3 hours): Take the Massachusetts Turnpike to Sturbridge, MA and I-84 Southwest. Follow I-84 through Hartford, CT to exit for Farmington, CT/ Route 4. Travel west on Route 4 to Cornwall Bridge, CT, bearing left on Route 7 South. Follow Route 7 South to Kent, CT. Once in Kent, turn right at stoplight and monument onto Route 341 West. Cross bridge over the Housatonic River, pass the main campus entrance and turn right into parking area.

FROM BRADLEY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT: Take Route 20 West to Granby. Follow to Route 219 and take a left on 219. Follow to Route 318 and turn right on 318. Follow to Route 44 and turn right. Follow Route 44 to Route 8 and turn left. Exit Route 8 at Route 4 West (Exit 44). Stay on Route 4 to Route 7 South. Take left onto Route 7 South. Once in Kent, turn right at stoplight and monument onto Route 341 West. Cross bridge over the Housatonic River, pass the main campus entrance and turn right into parking area.

FROM HARTFORD (est. 1 hour 20 minutes): Take Route 44 West to 202 West to Route 4 West. Stay on Route 4 into Cornwall Bridge, CT then bear left onto Route 7 South into Kent. Once in Kent, turn right at stoplight and monument onto Route 341 West. Cross bridge over the Housatonic River, pass the main campus entrance and turn right into parking area.

FROM DANBURY & FAIRFIELD COUNTY (est. 30 minutes from Danbury): Take Route 7 North all the way to Kent. Once in Kent, go left at stoplight and monument onto Route 341 West. Cross bridge over the Housatonic River, pass the main campus entrance and turn right into parking area.

FROM WATERBURY (est. 1 hour): Take I-84 West (toward Danbury), get off at exit 7 and merge onto Route 7 North. Once in Kent, go left at stoplight and monument onto Route 341 West. Cross bridge over the Housatonic River, pass the main campus entrance and turn right into parking area.

By Train:

It’s easy, relaxing and affordable to get to Kent on the Metro North train from Grand Central Station in New York City.  Take the Harlem Line Train to the TenMile River stop in Amenia, NY, just 10 miles from Kent.  For train schedules click here.

FREE Shuttle Bus Schedule: Litchfield Jazz Festival will be running a free round trip bus throughout the weekend to make your trip affordable and stress free.  Just get on the train in New York and relax and take in the scenery as it changes from city to country.   

Saturday, August 1st
To the Festival: Train departs Grand Central 9:48 AM; arrives Tenmile River at 11:53 AM.   The shuttle will meet the train at 11:53 AM and drop you off at The Festival. 
From the Festival:
Departure #1: Train departs Tenmile River at 8:30 PM; arrives Grand Central at 10:40 PM.  The shuttle will leave the festival to head to the train at 8:00 PM. 
Departure # 2: Train departs Tenmile River at 11:29 PM; arrives Grand Central at 1:49 AM.  The shuttle will leave the Fife 'n Drum (venue of the After Party & Jam) to head to the train at 11:00 PM.

Sunday, August 2nd
To the Festival: Train departs Grand Central 9:48 AM; arrives Tenmile River at 11:53 AM.   The shuttle will meet the train at 11:53 AM and drop you off at The Festival. 
From the Festival: Train departs Tenmile River at 8:30 PM; arrives Grand Central at 10:40 PM.  The shuttle will leave the festival to head to the train at 8:00 PM.

By Plane:

Kent is approximately 60 miles from Bradley International Airport in Connecticut, 90 miles from Laguardia Airport and just under 100 miles from John F. Kennedy Airport, both in New York.  Once you arrive, you may need a livery service.  Below are recommended services.
