One of the most exciting and virtuosic guitarists in jazz, Pat Martino will join LJC as a special guest artist on Thursday, July 22 (Session 2). He began playing guitar when he was twelve years old and left school in tenth grade to devote himself to music. An amazing career and life, Pat Martino survived a severe brain aneurysm and miraculously returned to music. He will give a master class for the all Litchfield Jazz Camp students the Thursday of Session 2.

Litchfield Jazz Camp students Robin Baytas, Ben Lusher, Gabe Schnider, Evan Sherman and Dominic Sbrega named members of the 2010 Grammy Jazz Ensembles. All five students have been attending LJC for many summers -- this is where they fell in love with jazz!

I was blown away by Litchfield Jazz Camp in Kent, CT. The atmosphere was pure learning. The young people were hungry and joyful. My colleagues on the faculty were giving it every minute. What a wonderful exchange.
